APRIL PSONIS
Born and raised in Tasmania April Psonis developed a natural love for painting and drawing at a very young age, describing her creativeness as something that is deeply embedded in her family, derived from her very talented grandmother.
April Psonis’ style has evolved organically over the years, where she once leant her brush to realism, she now loves to create semi-abstract works that push against restraint and the ordinary. Drawing from a diverse range of influences April describes the female form as her most poignant sauce. Through her unique style April has always created works that celebrate the female form in all its power, inviting her audience to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery.
April Psonis primarily works with mixed mediums including acrylic, pencil and gesso creating works that explore a relationship between soft and hard or masculine and feminine, works that command presence.
Fuelled by the solace April Psonis finds in painting she continues to push the boundaries of her artistic career. Through her art April aspires to inspire and evoke a deep feeling of respect for the powerhouse that is the female form.
Abstract minimalist art plays a significant role in interior design. It breaks visual monotony and ties design elements together. The right size, colour scheme, and placement of the art can add sophistication to most interior spaces.
