The Dream State Series
“I always start with an idea of colour, never any form, and then I channel into painting the piece. The works are only numbered and never named, as I don't want the viewer to be encumbered by my own perception of the artworks after they are created.
They appear as soft focus abstractions that sometimes look like cloudscapes or blurred half formed visions of landscapes. They are a window into that moment of creation. They are heavily reliant on my state of mood and energy. They are my meditations. “

Within the last few years, Amelia has refined her love of blending, now working primarily with pigments in oils, creating a dramatic large-scale series of subtle, interfused, layered artworks.
Amelia Axton is an Australian Artist and renowned makeup director best known for her smooth & understated style of blending. Amelia was always creating & painting from a young age. She currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
