About the Artist
Bernadette Smith is a contemporary artist working within painting and photomedia. Her paintings are inspired by coastal water ecologies exploring texture and colour relationships. She has a Master of Fine Arts from Sydney College of the Arts and was selected for the 10th Canberra Festival of Art.
Bernadette has also exhibited internationally with solo shows in Berlin, San Francisco and Singapore and is included in collections in Germany, France, Britain, Singapore, Spain, Australia and the USA. She has been a finalist in several major art prizes and has completed a Bundanon artist residency. Her art has been exhibited at cultural institutions such as Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Perth Centre for Photography, Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne, Mosman Art Gallery, Newcastle Art Gallery and the State Library of NSW.
