About Print Sizes
Fine Art Print on 310gsm archival paper includes 5cm white border.
For example:
A print size of 60 x 60 cm would represent an image size of 50 x 50 cm.
A print size of 120 x 90 cm would represent an image size of 110 x 80 cm.
Because the border wraps the image, we add the 5cm either side which makes up the 10cm difference.

Artist Statement
A painter of light and nature, my art practice unfolds from a lens of wonder. As a Danish-Australian artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane, my work suspends itself somewhere in-between Nordic and Australian light and place. I often take my practice beyond the studio to walk in nature: here I carefully create ephemeral textile installations in the landscape before documenting their interaction with the elements. It is an awe-inspiring experience which has followed me around the world - it awakens environmental awareness. Back in the studio I draw upon my time in nature as I paint on un-stretched canvases pinned to the wall. In sheer layers of oil-paint I invite the light and memories of time and place to illuminate each layer as I allow the paint to do its magic. I consider my work to be abstract landscapes and my practice to be in the realm of expanding painting. Holding a bachelor of Fine Art (Hons), I have exhibited and been artist-in-residence across Australia, and in Italy and Denmark.
Helle Cook
Helle Cook is a Danish-Australian artist who grew up in Denmark. While she continues to travel between Australia and Denmark, she now calls Brisbane/Meanjin home.
Helle studied a Diploma in visual art before completing her Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours in 2019. She has a decade of solo and group art exhibitions behind her, in Australia and beyond. She has been artist-in-residence in Australia, Denmark, and Italy. Helle's work is held in private collections locally and abroad.
With a deep-felt fascination of the natural world, it is especially the sensory experience of light and memories of place - in Australia, Denmark, and beyond - that inspires Helle’s work. Her paintings illuminate this enquiry in translucent layers of oil paint, in large-scale gestural paintings as well as more intimate works.
