Pamela Tang

Pamela Tang is an Australian contemporary painter whose abstract and still life works emerge from quiet moments gathered in her surrounding nature. A balance between instinctive creation and thoughtful exploration, they reveal a dialogue between the raw and refined that invites stillness and contemplation.

With a background in Fine Art, Industrial and Interior Design, Tang’s practice reveals an ongoing interplay between art, craft, and design. Working primarily with acrylics, rice and tissue paper, she develops layered compositions that explore texture and materiality, transforming the surrounding space into a place of tranquility. The raw imperfections in her work encourage close observation, revealing subtle details that echo the silence and stillness found in nature.

Her work embodies the belief that true expression is quiet, not seeking to convince but to speak softly through its presence.

b. in Darwin, Northern Territory. Lives in Perth, Western Australia.

Her work has been collected by the James Bradley Hotel in New Jersey and by private collectors across Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom and USA.

Tang was awarded the 2025 Leda Art Prize, recognised as a finalist in the Perth Landscape Art Awards 2025, and selected to exhibit with the Craft Council of Western Australia during her final year of Industrial Design studies.
