About Print Sizes

Fine Art Print on 310gsm archival paper includes 5cm white border.

For example:
A print size of 60 x 60 cm would represent an image size of 50 x 50 cm.

A print size of 120 x 90 cm would represent an image size of 110 x 80 cm.

Because the border wraps the image, we add the 5cm either side which makes up the 10cm difference.

Artist Statement

As an artist I am compelled to celebrate the power that is the female form. With its magnificent curves, inherent strength, and ability to create life I aim to capture the essence of female empowerment.

I like to play with composition and colour in a way that challenges the notion of femininity being synonymous with fragility, instead I strive to portray strength, complexity, and resilience, shedding light on the profound impact women have within the world.

Through my artwork I invite viewers to pause and question preconceived notions of beauty and power, to challenge marginalisation and societal constraints. my artistic representation of the female form seeks to redefine femininity to exist unapologetically and boldly.

Ultimately my art seeks to celebrate the female form as a source of strength and resilience. It is a reminder to challenge societal norms of femininity and beauty to celebrate the true powerhouse that is the female form.

About the artist

April Psonis

April Psonis is a self-taught artist based in Melbourne. She paints from her home in Prahran, where she lives with her husband, her very busy 2-year-old and her beloved cat.

Born and raised in Tasmania April developed a natural love for painting and drawing at a very young age, describing her creativeness as something that is deeply imbedded in her family derived from her very talented grandmother.

April Psonis’s style has evolved organically over the years, where she once leant her brush to realism, she now loves to create abstract works that push against restraint and the ordinary. Drawing from a diverse range of influences April describes the female form as her most poignant sauce. Through her unique style April has always created works that celebrate the female form in all its power, inviting her audience to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery.

April Psonis primarily works with mixed mediums including acrylic, pencil and gesso creating works that explore a relationship between soft and hard or masculine and feminine, works that command presence.

Fuelled by the solace April Psonis finds in painting she continues to push the boundaries of her artistic career. Through her art April aspires to inspire and evoke a deep feeling of respect for the powerhouse that is the female form.
