Collection: Spring Emblem

Spring Emblem. The light awakens earlier in the days. Budding blossoms and the scent of jasmine from over the fence. Windows beckon, open for the first time in months. The morning air still cool, the sun, thankfully, has weight again.

Spring Emblem is colour returning – work that lifts a room after a season of holding still. The collection gathers 30 works across painting, textile, ceramics and mixed media from artists who share a looseness of hand – marks made as the thought is finished, like the season itself.

Lines that wander and double back the way a walk does when there's no hurry. Surfaces scraped and rebuilt until they roughen like ground after rain. Silk and merino felted into pale gold and bleached white – the colour of a beach at eight in the morning. Blush tones somewhere between skin and petal. Clay that holds the shape of a hand. And here and there, the moment light gets through cloud.

Loose lines, layered paint, colour coming back. Large canvases for a main wall, smaller works for a hallway or desk.
