inner horizons are the places i dream when exploring memories of home. atmospheres where silence and solitude give way to drifting fog, colours in the sky as the sun begins its ascent – echoes of clarity and inspiration, where i sense my place in the beautiful and the "elsewhere."



gli orizzonti interiori sono i luoghi che sogno quando esploro i ricordi di casa. atmosfere in cui il silenzio e la solitudine cedono il passo alla nebbia che deriva, ai colori del cielo mentre il sole inizia la sua ascesa – echi di chiarezza e ispirazione, dove avverto il mio posto nel bello e nell’“altrove.”

About the artist

Chanel Durante

Chanel comes from a region in Northern Italy close to Venice, a scenic area near forests, mountains and sea where the atmosphere is often thick with fog and mist. Chanel is a self-taught Italian painter and began by working with water colours and acrylics, but now prefers to work with oil paints on a smaller intimate scale. Currently living and painting in Italy, she has participated in various exhibitions and biennials in Italy and abroad.

She is an empathetic and intuitive artist who paints the nostalgic moment of an emotional experience. "I live out fragments of memories that have crystallised into the landscapes of my life."

And it is precisely those landscapes that she tries to capture, making them transcend and render them evocative, undefined and intangible so that they can gather, in their vaporousness, the transfiguration of an emotion, a feeling, a regret.. of the bittersweet poetry of life.
