Artist Statement

"Pool Noodle" is based off the original 7M chair by New York designer Ara Thorose (2016). Ara generously granted permission for the use of his design in this body of work showcasing playful designer chairs.

"Take a seat" is my latest body of work. It's a collection that emerges with renditions of bright and bold designer chairs. Stirred by the ability to take an everyday, practical object and morph them into expressive abstract sculptures.

Brandi Hughes

Brandi Hughes is a self-taught multidisciplinary fine artist born and raised in Utah, the United States. After a serendipitous encounter with her now husband, Brandi relocated to Australia in 2014 and began her life as an artist there. Currently situated in the coastal regions of the Sunshine Coast, she spends her days swimming, tending to her garden and creating paintings and ceramics from her studio at home - likely with their butter-loving cat Louie by her side.
